Getting made-up by Estee Lauder!

Dear All,

Jai Jhoolelal

BLC organized a session with leading cosmetics brand Estee Lauder. Our ladies were in for a real treat!
The session began with Estee Lauder explaining the importance of the skin care routine. The five-step method they recommend involves using their cleanser, toner, repair cream, moisturiser and finally the eye cream.
With live demos on day make up, night make up and on how to accentuate the eyes, the workshop was packed with information. Three lucky volunteers from the BLC audience were selected as models. Kanchan Kalro was the model for the subtle daytime look; Priyanka was the model for the dramatic night look while the eye make up was demonstrated on Manju Bajaj.
The session was interactive, with the make up experts answering all our queries patiently. The make up experts were kind enough to share secret techniques of applying foundation (the flower method). They made it fun while sharing with us the professional techniques of applying mascara – up to down, down to up and sideways, spell E- S-T-E-E and release the brush!
A special offer for BLC included a free gift with every purchase and we all also walked away with free sachets of moisturiser and eye cream! All in all, a couple of hours very well spent!

Impossible Is Nothing

Dear All,

Jai Jhoolelal

BLC organized a motivational session called ‘Growing Into What Is Possible’, with NLP practitioner, coach and trainer, Amit Punjabi, of Sankalp Academy.

Amit set the mood by showing a 10-minute video of a woman called Amy Purdy who fought against all odds, and made her weakness her strength to be a winner.

It was interesting to see the ladies of BLC being so energetic and participating with gusto to every question thrown to them by the confident and engaging Amit.
He started by making every one list their strengths, then their weaknesses. It was quite a sight to see the ladies scribbling away at their pads. For many of the ladies, it was a first of its kind talk and they took to it very well.

In the next hour Amit got volunteers to share their weaknesses and showed them effective ways of converting them to strengths. He prescribed a three-step approach:
  1. Be open to making mistakes, remember a child who falls and just gets up and goes about running again.
  2. Look at failures as feedback to be used to improve.
  3. Be excited about what you want to achieve.
Only if we grow into possibilities can we achieve what we want. Thus we first need to imagine or think of what we want to do or achieve. Then we need to feel excited, and charged about it and then we need to take appropriate actions to achieve it.
He ended the session with another video, of an 84-year-old woman dancing, jumping, and spinning with a young man of 25. This video effectively drove home the point that age, health etc are excuses and blocks. If you really want something and are passionate about it, you will achieve it, no matter what.
