4th Anniversary of BLC

Dear All,

Jai Jhoolelal

The BLC presentation to celebrate its 4th Anniversary - ‘Sindhessence’ – a fashion extravaganza through the ages, showcased the original attire of Sindhi women – the ‘Raoh-Paro’. It consists of a pleated full length skirt or ghagra, a blouse that was – either short like the one worn with sarees, or long with side slits, and an odhni that was much wider than the dupatta worn nowadays. Sindhessence also featured the later modern versions of salwaar suits worn by Sindhi women – something that has evolved into the present day palazzos. This fashion show also highlighted the anarkali suits and western dresses – so symbolic of the contemporary Sindhi woman who beautifully blends the traditional with the modern in her own inimitable style.

Anmol the Master of Ceremony for this event entertained the audience with his mimicry and ice-breakers. Mamta Ahuja gave her voice to the invocation song as well as Sindhi numbers. Sonali Talreja and Mohit swayed rhythmically to perform Salsa. The audience and the dignitaries from various cities enjoyed the whole show thoroughly.
