In keeping with the tradition of upholding our rich culture and heritage, Sindhi Council of India's - Bangalore Ladies Chapter takes great pride in announcing the Teejri Celebrations on the eve of the festival for its members and special guests on 22nd August 2013.Music, Masti, Mehendi and 'Musaak' form part of this event. 'Housie-with-a Twist' will be followed by High Tea.

You will be happy to know that members of various Ladies Chapters in different parts of the nation and world have also organized events to celebrate the same on the same date (respective to their timelines), as a mark of solidarity. The following places have already confirmed - Singapore, Spain, Dubai, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Coimbatore, Mysore, Vijaywada, Nagpur, Madurai, Hubli, Jaipur and Indore.

We are trying to keep Sindhiyat alive and thriving in our own small way! And may our tribe increase!

Pranik Healing

Cheti Chand Jo Melo

Cheti Chand this year was on 11^th April. It was celebrated by the Sindhi Federation of Bangalore on the following Sunday, 14 April, 2013 at the auditorium of Sindhi College, Hebbal.

The Bangalore Ladies Chapter conducted the game of Housie in Sindhi and organized the entertainment for the day. Mamta Ahuja and Bhavana Kukreja rendered a soulful bhajan. Sonali Talreja, Simran Talreja, Vedika Ahuja and Bhumika Talreja enthralled the audience with their dance performances to medleys from Bollywood.

The Managing Committee members performed the Bahranno Sahib pooja during the event. They held their thhaaliswith the Modak made of atta – symbolic of our Ishta Devata Jhoole Lal, lamps and akho (offering of rice and sugar). Their faith in their wishes being fulfilled was reinforced by the meaningful lyrics of the devotional song sung by Mamta Ahuja in the background – “Munjhi bberi athai vichcha seera the`, Pallou paaya thi maa jinda peer the`……”
