Computer Classes held By Bangalore Ladies Chapter
Bangalore Ladies Chapter kick started its events with a 10 day certified Basic Computer Course for its members on 29th March at the Computer Lab of the Sindhi High School, KK Road. the Ladies who attended the course thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience
Flavours Of Sindh
Food is an integral aspect of any culture with even the history and geographical features of the area where it flourishes, influencing it to a great extent. Sindhi food being no exception is unique with many exotic ingredients, simple methods of cooking and some elaborately prepared rich delicacies. With the intention of familiarizing the youth with their cuisine and giving the older folks a chance to rekindle their passion for authentic Sindhi food, the Bangalore Ladies chapter organized a mega food fest- "Flavours Of Sindh" on May 31st at Sindhi Seva Samiti Golden Jubilee Hall in Hebbal. The saying is "Too many cooks spoil the broth" but in this case all the people who 'cooked up' this event proved this saying wrong.
Taare Zameen Par
"Taare Zameen Par" a day devoted to the specially challenged children of 'Asha - Centre for Developmental Disabilities' a school run by Army Wives' Welfare Association was organized on 7th August b/w 11.00.a.m. and 3.00.p.m. at Sindhi High School, KK Road
These special childrens of god aged between 6 and 36 came, performed and won our hearts.The BLC rewarded the children's efforts by giving medals to all appreciation. A lamination machine (to help the children in their vocational training) was presented to the Principal Mrs. Meera Ravichander, who graced the occasion. A stall was also put up to display and sell items made by these children most of which were picked by the BLC team.Mr. Biharilal Menda, Mr. Radhakishandas kalro, along with the spouses of a few of the BLC office bearers and managing committee graced the occassion.
At the end of the event, these VIP guests left us teary eyed and taught us many a lesson with their endearing and wonderful performances and their infectious positive attitude to life. We at BLC will always hold them close to our hearts.
