Dear All,
Jai Jhoolelal
Wishing you all a Happy Holi
The 2nd Anniversary Celebrations of the Bangalore Ladies Chapter was held on 18th February, 2012 at Hinduja Hall, Sindhi Seva Samiti between 3:00 and 6:00 pm. It was well attended by over 200 members and a few gentlemen – special guests from Bangalore Chapter of Sindhi Council of India.
The program started with a recital of the Saraswati Shloka to commemorate the onset of Basanth Rhitu. The traditional Pallou Jhallan song was rendered by Jayashree Kukreja and Madhu Ahuja. The mike was wielded by the Master of Ceremonies for the evening – Juhi R. A tribute was paid to the noted lawyer late Miss Rani Jethmalani. The President Shoba R. Kalro gave the Welcome Address. The Managing Committee members sang the BLC song to the audience. This was followed by musical entertainment by Sheelu and Group. To create awareness of BLC’s next venture – a book on Sindhi rituals called ‘Glimpses of Sindhiyat – Rituals and Way of Life’, a special Housie and Quiz were conducted by Neha Bathija, Henna Kalro and Radhika Shyam. The members participated enthusiastically to win prizes. A celebratory dance performance by BLC’s youngest member – Sonali was well appreciated. A special adaptation of the Kolaveri song dedicated to the ladies of BLC – written by Mr. Prakash Madhwani was sung boisterously by Mr. Ram Kapai. The invitees then enjoyed the high tea that was arranged for the celebratory occasion and participated in song based games. Subscriptions from members were collected and their addresses and other details were verified by Mala Bathija and Babita Menda.
All members who showed their ID cards were given surprise gifts – copies of the Bhagwad Gita in English along with CDs and travel bags. The former were sponsored by Shoba Kalro and Vandana Hasija and the latter were souvenirs sent by the Sindhi Council of India.
